Embassy of Romania - Celebrating Romania's National Day with an exceptional concert

Published on 9 december 2024

On Tuesday, 3 December 2024, we were delighted to participate as partners in an exceptional event organised by the Embassy of Romania in Ljubljana to celebrate the Romanian National Day. The evening was filled with music and culture and brought together the attendees in a pleasant festive atmosphere.

The main event of the evening was a concert by the renowned Romanian singer Paula Seling, accompanied by the Slovenian Chamber Orchestra under the baton of conductor Tilen Draksler. With her voice and her interpretations of Romanian carols and classical pieces, including Eugen Doha's waltz Dulcea și tandra mea fiară, she delighted the audience and created an enjoyable musical experience. A special moment of the evening was the performance of the Romanian anthem Deșteaptă-te, române, which underlined the importance of patriotism and togetherness for those present.

In line with a long-standing tradition, the Ambassador of Romania, Mr Alexandru Grădinar, awarded a Diploma of Excellence to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the promotion of Romania in Slovenia. This year, this award went to Marco Dulca, a Romanian footballer who plays for the Slovenian champions NK Celje.

The event was not only a celebration of a national holiday, but also an opportunity to strengthen the ties between the Romanian and Slovenian communities. Finally, the Embassy of Romania thanked the partners who contributed to the success of the evening. We are also proud to have been among the partners of this special event and to have contributed to the celebration and to bringing the community together.

We are grateful for the invitation and look forward to future opportunities for cooperation!
