The new hotel The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad furnished its lobby with works by Ross Bleckner
Published on 12 november 2024The spread of Bleckner's name to the public continues, this time outside the museum business into the hotels. The interior of the new Ritz-Carlton, NoMad luxury hotel in New York reflect a unique environment of artistic expression at every turn. Several of Bleckner's paintings can be found among the artworks that adorn the lobby and rooms.
The Ritz-Carlton collaborated with the Culture Crops company for the aesthetic part of furnishing of its building for "high society". They created a collection that expresses both the sophistication of the Ritz-Carlton brand and enriches the historic neighborhood. The inspiration for the collection was the floral district in which the hotel is located, so the choice of Bleckner among the authors is not at all surprising.
American contemporary artist Ross Bleckner is best known for his paintings in which he plays with floral motifs. His poetic works often use recurring symbolic images such as candelabra, doves and flowers, depicted with a blurred glowing sense of light. You can read more about the artist and his work here.
At Stoja Art Collection Gallery, we always look forward to Bleckner's successes and share them with our customers. Among the major successes within museum activity, this year's acquisitions of Bleckner's works in the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum in Madrid and in The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, both among the largest and most important museums in the world, are particularly important. You can read more about these two acquisitions at the links below:
- Ross Bleckner became part of the collection of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid
- Ross Bleckner landed in the collection of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
You don't need to fly to New York to admire pictures similar to those hanging around the luxurious The Ritz-Carlton, NoMad, but you can see them in our gallery in Ljubljana. We have as many as six works by Bleckner on tour, which you can come to by prior arrangement. Among them, we highlight the Prince/Frog work, which rivals the Kansas and Madrid acquisitions in terms of size. Learn more about the painting here.
