High-Profile Summit in Portotož to Discuss Coop in SE Europe
Published on 19 may 2015The fourth meeting of the most prominent and influential entrepreneurs, business executives and political leaders from the countries of SE Europe will take place on 1 and 2 June.
The Samit100 conference will discuss potential joint projects in the six most propulsive industries - energy, tourism, transport and infrastructure, digital economy, food and drinks and knowledge-based economy, according to the Slovenian Manager Association, which organises the event.
Ideas about how to boost cooperation in the region will be presented at a panel featuring Slovenian President Borut Pahor and his counterparts from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
According to Iztok Seljak, the CEO of industrial conglomerate Hidria, the summit in Portorož will also discuss how the region can utilise the EUR 300bn development cycle planned by the European Commission and alternative ways to finance regional projects.
"We will discuss the results with the government ministers from the region, with the goal of translating creativity into reality and into the future of our region," said Seljak, who heads the event's management board.
He believes that it is high time for the principles of revitalisation and integration of the region reflected in concrete projects that would boost the regions' competitiveness, starting with the transport network.
Samit100 is a joint initiative by the Manager Association, the Serbian Association of Managers and the Croatian Employers' Association, who are soon to be joined by the Atlas Foundation from Montenegro.
