Published on 23 june 2015

LOT airlines will be one of nine airliners flying into Ljubljana's airport this summer. Scheduled flights from Ljubljana to Warsaw will be launched a year after Slovenia's Adria Airways started service on the same route.

With the summer season kicking off, the number of flights will increase at the Jože Pučnik Ljubljana Airport, the airport operator said, announcing over 160 scheduled flights to 27 destinations during the summer.

In addition to the Warsaw flight, Ljubljana will see Finnair operate four weekly flights to Helsinki and Swissair will operate daily flights to Zurich.

Moreover, Slovenian flag carrier launched new scheduled services to Stockholm and Berlin as of the spring.

Aerodrom Ljubljana said operations were on the up since the takeover by Fraport in September last year. In May the airport catered to 128,400 passengers, which is almost 20% more than in the same month a year ago.
