Representatives of a number of Polish companies from various industries are in Ljubljana this week for Slovenian-Polish Business Days, a two-day event designed to open new chapters in cooperation between the countries.
The event will include a round-table debate on privatisation and investment opportunities in both countries on Monday and a bilateral business forum on Tuesday.
The latter will see a presentation of the Polish economy and opportunities for bilateral business links, as well as head-to-head meetings between business officials from both countries.
The events will take place as part of a visit by Katarzyna Kacperczyk, the undersecretary of state at the Polish Foreign Ministry, who is being accompanied by Polish business representatives.
The volume of bilateral goods trade between the countries has been on the increase since 2002, with the exception of the crisis year 2009, standing at EUR 1.29bn last year.
Slovenia exported EUR 744.6m worth of goods to Poland last year, with imports from the country amounting to EUR 546.7m, data from the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry shows.
The Polish-Slovenian Business Days have been organised by the Polish Embassy in Ljubljana, the Polish Foreign Ministry and Deloitte Slovenija.
