Unemployed Number Down for Fifth Month in a Row
Published on 14 july 2014The number of registered unemployed persons in June was the lowest since last September, when it stood at 114,669, but is still 0.3% higher than in June 2013.
The Employment Service says that the drop in the number of unemployed persons in June was expected, given the start of the summer tourist season. A more sustainable reduction in the figure is not expected.
"We estimate that the unemployment figure will stand around 125,000 at the end of 2014," the service recently told the STA.
