ČAD RESTAURANT, LJUBLJANA; Restaurant "Pod Rožnikom" in Ljubljana better known as ČAD is very old. It is situated in the quiet residential area of Ljubljana, in Rožna dolina, in close vicinity of the Rožnik Hill.
The old part of the restaurant is entered through a door with a chiseled inscription bearing the year 1850. Within lies the soul of the restaurant where whole generations of guests have been sating their appetites. Larger groups are served in the dining hall, which resides under the vaulted ceiling of an ancient stable and may seat up to 120 guests. The open fireplace provides for a warm and cozy atmosphere. The pride of our restaurant, though, is its shady summer garden known far and wide. This is where guests are pampered in the deep shade of ancient chestnut trees. In the summer, the entire kitchen is moved into the garden so that everyone may observe how the food is grilled. An adjoining playground will keep children entertained while parents relax in the garden.
