WINES SIMČIČ, DOBROVO; We are an hour and a half from Ljubljana and from Venice by car. Whereever you come from, you will be welcomed in the heart of Collio, where quality has no borders. The family owns 18 hectares of vineyards, some older than 55 years, both on the Slovenian and on the Italian side of the Brda region.
Year 2008 was a milestone for Simčič winery - Marjan, representing the fifth generation of winemakers, since in 1860 Jožef Simčič bought first pieces of Brda land and planted the oldest vineyards, becomes the pillar of the winemaking from all points of view. His story, which was told and implemented through his wines in the past 20 years, was in 2008 brought to such perfection to be presented to public as the result of his devotion - with a line of wines denominated ''Opoka''.
We believe in the magical curves of the Goriška Brda hills, the sun of the Primorska region and the warm Mediterranean wind. Here, the Mediterranean and the Alps shake hands. If you think of the vineyard as a body, then our cellar is the heart of Marjan Simčič's farm. We produce 90,000 bottles of wine per year - in three lines: Classic wines, complex wines and the most prestigious line Opoka.
