TOBACCO MUSEUM, LJUBLJANA; Housed in the former warehouse of the Tobacna Ljubljana factory, the museum's exhibitions chronologically follow the history of tobacco, from Columbus' discovery of the plant in America 500 years ago to the develop of the European tobacco industry to the present.
Special attention is given to the significance of the Ljubljana factory, the lifestyle of its workers and the production process of every tobacco product imaginable. An impressive display of various pipes, tobacco boxes, cigarette cases and holders throughout history is particularly sexy. Since manufacturing ceased in 2004, the main business of Tobacna has been the marketing and sales of tobacco products.
